A Brief Update - Google Buzz Sharing

So, it's been ages since I've updated anything on-line. I decided to make a post just so the interwebs knows I'm still here.
So, just to make sure this post is partially productive or useful, I'd like to point out that I've added the newly available Google Buzz sharing and following tools to the site.
If you take a look on the right, you'll see a link where you can follow me on Google Buzz - not that I am posting anything lately (I do plan to remedy that soon).

Chrome OS - open source project released

Over at the Official Google Blog, the Chromium open source project has been released.
The OS is not yet "ready" for full use, but Google have outlined their basic plans for the OS and it sounds like an interesting take on things.

Chrome OS essentially replaces the desktop experience with the browser experience. Read more »


Go, Go Google Programming Language!

Google Go

Google has announced something particularly interesting: a new programming language. This must be the week I post about programming languages and tools, (more about that tomorrow).

Google has named the language Go. The reason for this is the impressive compile times. I mean, this thing is fast. I'll be playing with Go some time over the next few months to get some first hand experience with the speed, and some of the interesting features Google have added. So, I guess Google must be in release mode or something. Because I've just found out Google have released another new product: Google Dashboard.

Dashboard is supposed to show you everything associated with your Google Account. I could explain it in detail, since I've had a bit of a play with it... but you can just watch this video:

Closure

Google Closure

Google have released their core JavaScript developments tools to the wider community. Apparently they hope that faster, more reliable internet applications will be developed using the same technology used to build popular web apps such as Gmail and Google Docs.

From the Closure site:
